Moree Plains Shire Council provides first quarter 2020-2021 financial assistance grants to four community groups

Four community groups will benefit from a financial assistance grant this quarter from Moree Plains Shire Council.

Moree Junior Soccer Club will receive $3000 for the purchase of new soccer goals and nets.

Barwon Health Alliance will also receive $3000 for the Dr William Hunter Scholarship, however council has strongly recommended that the recipient comes from the Moree Plains Shire.

Moree Can Assist will receive $2370.32 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to cancer patients within the Moree Plains Shire.

Finally, Moree Physical Culture Club will receive $1629.68 to purchase new equipment.

The funding comes out of council's public donations policy for the July to September 2020 quarter.

Two other applications for financial assistance - from the Country Education Foundation Moree to provide scholarships to rural/remote youth in Moree and from Bank Art Museum Moree as sponsorship for the Moree Portrait Prize - were rejected by council at last Thursday's council meeting.
