A young boy has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after a serious quad bike accident.

The 12-year-old boy was at a property in Boomi, northwest of Moree, when the accident occurred.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was sent out at 2.20pm on Saturday with reports he was suffering from multiple serious injuries.

ASNSW Paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team have treated and stabilised him before airlifting him to the Queensland Children's Hospital in a critical condition for further treatment.
