Moree Veterinary Hospital (MVH) is the only vet operating in Moree, with the practice first opened on the Mungindi Road in 1978 by Charlie Bunce.
David Hunter became a practice partner in 2000 and the business moved to purpose-built premises at 106 Heber Street in 2010.
There have been many changes in the forty-two years since Charlie first opened the practice doors, the advances in technology has allowed the reliable practice to service the multitude of Moree and district pet and stock owners who rely on the local expertise of Charlie and David, who deliver the care and knowledge equal to many human hospitals.

A vital factor that accounts for the success of this longstanding essential business is dedication of all the practice staff, in particular the long and arduous hours that Charlie and David commit during weekends, after hours and public holidays which allows locals and visitors access to general and emergency animal treatment.
"We love being part of wonderful community, we are extremely grateful to our loyal clients and their animals and very proud to be able to provide for their veterinary cares and needs for the Moree district pets and livestock," David said.
Like all businesses, MVH has had to adapt as a result of COVID-19.
"Like everyone, we have to be very mindful of the risks and ensure we operate in a COVID safe way," David said.
"If any one of our staff were to become unwell, we would be forced to close for a period of two weeks".
MVH was nominated for the award by Theresa Morgan who said, "Moree Veterinary Hospital has devoted many years of experienced service to the community of Moree and surrounding areas and all our precious fur babies".
David said the whole team is flattered and grateful for the nomination and appreciation shown by all their wonderful clients.
"We want to thank Theresa and everyone who voted for us and hopefully we can continue to provide quality veterinary care to the Moree community," he said.
Nominations are currently open for the September 2020 Moree Thumbs Up Thumbs Down Business Appreciation Award. If you want to nominate a local business who is COVID-Safe and has excellent customer service go to www.facebook.com/groups/688681601261419/
