They might not have got the win against Narrabri Sporties FC on the weekend, but Moree Services FC coach Matt Urquhart was still content after a much improved performance following their disappointing 4-1 loss to Wee Waa in round seven.

Moree went down 4-3 at home on Saturday, but Urquhart said he was "pretty pleased with the performance" against the ladder leaders.
"I think the boys were really enthusiastic about making it to the ball which is something we've been speaking about for the last few weeks, and the whole season," he said.
"The whole game they were getting in, having a go and trying to get to that ball first which is good to see.
"Normally it's a few minutes here, a few minutes there. This time they stuck in and did it for the whole game.
"We were still kind of outclassed by Narrarbri. They just finish off those turnovers really well. They're good at hitting players in front of goal and smacking it in the goal.
"Their goals came from our mistakes but at the same time they're able to finish them off."

With the absence of Kenny Wright, Lachlan Cavanagh and Brad McLane really stepped up in the midfield in his place.
"They were just consistently getting to that ball, controlling the ball, knocking a few passes on," Urquhart said.
"I'm pretty sure a few goals came from those boys getting to the ball and distributing it to where it needs to be.
"Especially since we were missing Kenny, the last few weeks he's been the man that we look to, but they stepped up big time."
With just three weeks left in the regular season, Moree currently sit in last place on the ladder with one game in hand.
They will play four games before finals, including one catch up, and Urquhart is still confident they can be in contention at the end of the season.
"We're kind of fighting for that third place position [with Narrabri Sporties FC Elevens]," he said.
"If they turn out a performance like that [on Saturday] for the next couple of weeks consistently, I reckon we'll have a good push for the finals.
"Then it's just cleaning up the mistakes with the turnovers...we obviously don't have any dramas scoring against Narrabri, it's just cleaning up those mistakes."
Moree will host Wee Waa United at Moree Services Club this weekend.
