A Moree man has been charged with the possession of child abuse material, after explicit images of young children were allegedly found by police during a raid on his home.

At 7.10am on Thursday, August 13, officers attached to New England Police District attended a home in Moree where they seized electronic storage devices allegedly containing explicit photographs of young children.

The 20-year-old man put up a fight during his arrest, and when he was taken to Moree Police Station he was not only charged with possessing child abuse material, but resisting an officer in the execution of duty, destroying or damaging property and assaulting an officer in the execution of duty.
He was bail refused to appear before Moree Local Court on Friday, August 14.
