Their warm and friendly service has seen the Greenbah Store named the July winner of the Moree Thumbs Up Thumbs Down Essential Business Appreciation Award.
Located on Greenbah Road, the convenience store stocks a range of groceries, small goods, fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers, hot pies, sausage rolls, hotdogs and freshly made salad rolls and sandwiches.
Owners Snow and Tracie Miller purchased the store in 2006 from Jeff and Sue Greenaway, who owned and operated it for 28 years.
"We love Moree and our little shop, the customer support for our business is wonderful, we have family in Moree along with some great friends," Tracie said.
"My family were born and bred in Moree, so we know a lot of locals young and old. We have enjoyed seeing little babies born, watched them grow from their first day of school, progress onto high school and then undertaking things like getting their drivers licence.
"Since owning the store, we have seen many changes, floods, drought and now COVID-19."
Tracie said it has been a difficult time trying to keep the business going, particularly following on from the drought which saw many local workers lose their jobs and families struggling.
"Keeping the business going has been exhausting with so many ups and downs," she said.
"With the COVID-19 pandemic we have had to make many changes and adjustments, the same as other local businesses have had to.
"It's been hard to get stock, suppliers delivering into town less - only weekly instead of twice weekly, some even only monthly.
"Many of our elderly customers who are trying to stay safe are mostly doing phone orders and picking up their orders in the car park.
"The panic buying has been very frustrating."
Tracie said they would like to say a "huge" thank you to their loyal customers for their continued support.
"Without them we wouldn't be here," she said.
Greenbah Store was nominated for the monthly thumbs up award by Judy Foster, who said the store has great country hospitality.
"Greenbah Store has wonderful customer service, excellent variety of groceries and takeaways," she said.
"And you are met with a wonderful greeting when you walk through the door."
Tracie thanked Judy for her nomination and continued support, as well as all the people who voted for them.
"Judy is a great loyal customer and has become a great friend," she said.
"Judy lights up our store when she comes through the shops doors.
"We are very proud and feel appreciated by our customers and to everyone who voted for us.
"Thank you for supporting small local businesses; it's lovely to see that our hard work has been noticed."
Nominations will soon be opening for the August Moree Thumbs Up Thumbs Down Essential Business Appreciation Award. If you want to nominate a local business who is COVID-Safe and has excellent customer service go to www.facebook.com/groups/688681601261419/
