Lucy Brownhill was the lucky winner of the 2019 silver pearl Toyota Yaris Ascent, and thrilled to receive the keys on Wednesday.
She said she had no idea she was even entered in the raffle, so didn't believe it when she found out she had won a car.
"Dad entered in my name; he bought a ticket for each of us - my brothers, my mum and himself - at a golf day in Moree," Lucy explained.
Her dad David Brownhill bought five tickets at the Moree Desperates Golf Day, however he had such a good time at the event that he can't remember even buying the tickets.
So they were both shocked to discover Lucy had won.
"I'm still in shock," Lucy said.
"I keep waiting for someone to tell me it's a joke."
The 22-year-old is currently studying tourism at the University of Technology Sydney and said the Toyota Yaris will be perfect in the city.
"I do have a car, but it's quite old and I was planning on selling it anyway, so this worked out so well," she said.
"I'm very excited."
Lucy and David drove to Moree on Wednesday to pick up the car from Tait Toyota.
Gwydir Industries president Bill Crawford was there to hand over the keys and said the board was pleased to see the car go to someone who will benefit from it.
"We're thrilled to see the car going to a young person who will love it," he said.
"It's such a great raffle; such a good value raffle which raised some valuable money for Gwydir Industries.
"Gwydir Industries is so happy to give back to the community as the community is so generous to Gwydir Industries.
"Congratulations to Lucy and all the winners."
The winners of the raffle, which was supposed to be part of the fundraising for Gwydir Industries' 2020 Dancing with the Stars before it was cancelled due to the drought and COVID-19, were drawn at a special event last week.
The other winners were Malcolm McNiven (who won a $2000 outdoor setting from My Store Moree, Jaymie McDonald (who won the third prize $1000 voucher from M&G Travel), and John Adams (who won a $1000 BP fuel card, donated by Campbell's Fuel Service).
