Members of the public were permitted to return to Moree Racecourse on Monday, for the first time since tough coronavirus restrictions were imposed.

More than 100 people attended Monday's TAB race meeting, transferred from Gunnedah, relishing the opportunity to watch the races in person for the first time in months.
A number of locally-owned horses took to the track with little success, however Moree trainer Peter Sinclair enjoyed wins in races four and five, with Liberty Head and Crystal Billy.

Ridden by Brooke Stower, Liberty Head won by just under a length and a half, ahead of Inverell-trained Our Joyeux. Sinclair also placed third in the 1300 metre Class 2 Handicap with Ah Well, ridden by Ashley Morgan.
Crystal Billy beat Quirindi horse Valatia by half a length to claim the 1600 metre BM58 Handicap.
And although he had three racing in the feature event of the day, the Curlewis Cup, Master Cramsie was his only place-getter, coming third behind Sea Lady and winner Dubai Tycoon, trained by Brett Cavanough. Moree Dreaming placed fifth, while Danigree ran ninth in the 11-horse race.
With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions on July 1, Moree Race Club was permitted to allow entry to the general public for the TAB meeting on July 6, under strict biosecurity measures.
Race-goers were required to adhere to social distancing regulations, with temperature checks and contact details taken at the gate.
Moree Race Club's next TAB meeting will be on Thursday, July 16.
