The state's homicide squad have been investigating the bashing death of 42-year-old Vergel Velasquez, who died in a Sydney hospital a day after being found with severe head injuries in a stairwell of a Girraween unit block on December 30.
Strike Force Brallo was established by homicide squad detectives who executed search warrants at units at Granville and homes in Moree earlier this year as part of the ongoing investigation.
Investigations initially led detectives to Moree on April 27 when a getaway car was seized. Then, in early May when 42 mobile phones were seized during a separate raid.
A 49-year-old man was arrested by strike force investigators on Thursday, May 14. He was charged and remains before the courts.
Following extensive inquiries, officers arrested three men - aged 41, 42 and 50 - and re-arrested a 49-year-old man at Moree from 10am on Tuesday, June 23.
All four men were taken to Moree Police Station and charged with murder.
They were all refused bail to appear at Inverell Local Court on Wednesday, June 24.
Investigations under Strike Force Brallo are continuing.
