The Moree on a Plate committee made the decision to cancel the 2020 event on Friday.
"After much consideration our committee has decided that in the interest of public safety, the 2020 Moree on a Plate Food and Wine Festival will unfortunately not go ahead," the committee said in a statement on Facebook.

"We are devastated for our producers, for which MOP is such an effective and profitable platform, our local suppliers, whose businesses rely on these large scale events, and our community, which has embraced this signature festival for the past 16 years.
"However, in these uncertain times, the health of our community is paramount.
"Stay safe everyone, and we'll keep working hard behind the scenes for an even bigger and better Moree on a Plate 2021."
