Whiddon welcomed Fairview residents and staff to the family on Monday with an afternoon tea to mark day one of the new arrangement.
"We are thrilled to welcome Fairview into the Whiddon family," Fairview's new director of care Fiona Lysaught said.
"I'd like to acknowledge all the people who have gone before us and the hard work the community has done over the years."
Whiddon has been working with Fairview for a number of months now to ensure the transition was a smooth one on Monday.
And while there will be changes to come, Ms Lysaught said they will be implemented over the coming months.
"Over the next two months, Whiddon are committed to ensuring residents, employees and the community are well-informed of the exciting changes taking place at the home," she said.
"Our move into the Moree community also provides an exciting opportunity for Whiddon's community care services to establish and grow in the New England area, alongside our existing Narrabri, Wee Waa and Tamworth services."
Whiddon CEO, Chris Mamarelis, will travel to Moree in the coming weeks to formally welcome the home, team, residents and family to Whiddon.
An aged care information event has also been organised for February 25.
This event - open to the whole community - aims to introduce Moree to Whiddon, while also providing education and information about Home Care and Residential Aged Care to people who may be beginning to plan for the future.
