That's how Moree Services Cycling and Triathlon Club (MSCTC) president Mike MacCue summarised what his club is about.
The Moree Mongooses, as they are named in the Triathlon NSW New England Interclub Series, describe themselves as a "dedicated but relaxed" group of individuals, and are preparing for a solid season this year after a slow start in 2019.
"Last year was a bit of a missed year," MacCue said.
"The club went into hiatus for a few months and didn't really get going until January.
"Our club also suffers the tyranny of distance and we find it difficult to get many to travel away to events."

The Interclub Series is the premier competition for triathlon clubs in the state, and challenges members to compete at key races in their region to earn participation and performance points for their club.
Under the dogged leadership of MacCue, the club resurrected their cycling season last year to accommodate more cycling-only members, in addition to their loyal contingent of triathletes.
With members from five to 80 years old, the club is family focused and fun-oriented, like many other regional clubs.
One of the biggest drawcards of the club is their in-house triathlons that are run every second Saturday from October to March. Two distances are on offer for the adults, while the club also accommodates a kids race for ages five and up.
"The best part of the tri's is the coffee and breaky afterwards," MacCue admitted.
"We don't 'race', it's handicapped so that it's an exciting finish, but the focus is to have a good time and try and improve our PB's.
"But there's always bragging rights!"
The unfortunate cancellation of the BCU Coffs Harbour Triathlon has shortened the New England Interclub Series to just two races - the Trial Bay Triathlon, and the double points Club Championships in Forster later this year.
However, MSCTC has not been deterred, with a number of members contesting Trial Bay next month.
As for Club Champs, MacCue is hopeful that with some encouragement, he can pull together a team to rival the Armidale Armadillos and the Tamworth Tigers, last year's first and second place in the Interclub Series.
Triathlon NSW operations manager Chris Cunningham believes the Mongooses have a strong chance, with his season prediction that they are "a club very much on the up, they've got great leadership under Mike MacCue and I think they will surprise this season."
All will be revealed on May 23 at Forster.
