Throughout the school holidays, the Moree Community Library has hosted free activities for children and teenagers, offering youngsters and their parents an inexpensive social excursion out of the oppressive January heat.
Big Sky Libraries manager Sally Walters is excited about the year ahead and invites community members to drop into the Moree Community Library and the Mungindi CTC.

"The digital revolution has not heralded the demise of the library, rather it has led to libraries being reinvented and reinvigorated," she said.
"Here at the Moree Community Library and the Mungindi CTC, we have really embraced this.
"Public libraries continue to offer free access to knowledge.
"But the role of contemporary public libraries extends far beyond access to books. Libraries are now places for learning and discovery, forums for debate, galleries for exhibitions and events, and spaces for work and pleasure. Importantly, libraries bring people together."
Moree Community Library will next week be hosting a special author talk with bestselling author Thea Haynes.
Thea will be at the library at 10am on Wednesday, January 22, talking about her new book A Country Nurse and narrating her adventures of moving to rural Queensland.
"It's sure to be a great session and a wonderful opportunity to hear first-hand from the author about her experiences as a nurse living in a remote area," Ms Walters said.
"Bring a friend along and make a morning of this great free event.
"As well as author talks, we still have a few weeks of school holiday activities such as movie screenings, Lego play days, arts and crafts tables and our new 'escape room challenges' before our term one school program kicks off."
All events hosted by the Moree Community Library are completely free and open to all members of the community.
