To celebrate the launch of the inaugural BKT KFC Big Bash League Trophy Tour, Australian cricket legend Merv Hughes visited the drought ridden community of Moree in New South Wales for one of Australia's most rural games of cricket.

As agriculture is BKT's main market, the occasion provided the company an opportunity to visit a community they are very close to.
The company has also been involved before in charity initiatives to support the Australian rural areas most struck by the drought.
Merv Hughes surprised local Moree farmer Andrew Crowe and his family on their 43,000 acre property 'Sunbury' for a pop-up game of cricket.

Local community members were also given the exciting opportunity to get up-close with the highly coveted BKT KFC Big Bash League trophy.
Having grown up in country Victoria, Hughes felt privileged to visit Moree and be part of the tour.
"Being able to bring the trophy tour to some of Australia's most drought affected areas and provide an escape through cricket for these people is a huge honour," Hughes said.
"Many of these townships are experiencing some of the toughest of times and the fact that we have the chance to unite regional areas and play a small role in lifting people's spirits is a really special thing."
BKT joint managing director Rajiv Poddar emphasised the organisation's delight at BKT being able to host the KFC Big Bash League Trophy Tour and to have the opportunity to connect with passionate cricket fans across Australia.
"Now entering the second year of our Big Bash League association, we are very excited to be taking our partnership on the road and providing fans in the most rural areas of Australia, the opportunity to get an up-close look at this year's trophy," Mr Poddar said.
"For almost a decade BKT has been providing large-scale tires to Australian farmers. From a strategic perspective, the Trophy Tour serves as the perfect platform to grow our relationship with our key target audience and also further build brand awareness in these communities."
The BKT KFC Big Bash League Trophy Tour has upcoming visits in Port August, Tatura and Kalgoorlie after already visiting Emerald and Albury/Wodonga.
