The Elders Group meets every Friday in the Pius X hall, during which time they get together to sew, cook and enjoy a laugh.
"From time to time we have medical educational talks, legal information and general information of what is going on in the community," Pius X counsellor Annabelle Simpson said.
The group has been meeting for more than 10 years, originally at the TAFE and now at Pius X.
The ladies have been busy sewing for a Christmas stall which is being held at the Pius Hall this Friday, December 6 from 11am.
All the items are handmade and make great little stocking fillers. There will also be some delicious slices and Christmas cakes available to purchase. Nothing is over $20 and 5 per cent of the profits will be donated to Can Assist.
All are welcome to come along and purchase their Christmas gifts. They will also be running two raffles which will be drawn on Friday, December 20.
