Moree Christian School students have helped to spread festive cheer to local emergency services workers with the delivery of freshly-baked Christmas sweets this week.
Secondary captains Jordan Briggs and Lusi-Ann Noordzy, along with class teacher Kristine Lawson, had a busy morning on Tuesday, December 3, delivering Christmas sweets to Moree Police Station, Moree Fire Station and Moree Ambulance Station.
The slices and biscuits were baked and prepared by the year 9/10 Food Technology class over the course of a few lessons.
Class teacher Kris Lawson said it's a gesture the school has been doing for a number of years.
"It's becoming an essential part of every Christmas season to take a moment to work hard at giving back to the services after everything they do for our community," she said.
"In short, it's a time to say thank you."
Lusi-Ann said it's a nice way for students to give back to the community.
"It's always fun serving the community in various ways like this, especially when it's for an amazing cause like this," she said.
The local police, firefighters and paramedics were very grateful for the thoughtful gift.
