Moree residents and visitors joined in with the rest of the nation of Tuesday, November 5 to watch Australian-bred Vow And Declare win the 2019 Melbourne Cup.
The Aussie horse finished ahead of Master of Reality, with a photo finish between third-placed Prince of Arran and fourth Il Paradiso. However, a protest between fourth and second was upheld, which saw Prince of Arran claim second place and Il Paradiso move up to third, while Master of Reality was demoted out of the placings for interference late in the race.
There were plenty of places around Moree to watch the race that stops a nation, with a number of events and luncheons at the various pubs and clubs.
We snapped photos of revellers at Moree Services Club and Moree Golf Club.
