The Moree Services Women's Bowling Club celebrated its 60th birthday on Thursday, with clubs from right across the district joining in the occasion at the Moree Services Club.

Club members from Moree, Narrabri, Delungra, Wee Waa, Bingara, Goondiwindi and Lightning Ridge all came together for a few games of bowls and a delicious lunch.
Additionally, inaugural members Joan Brooks and Betty Geary attended to reminisce and cut the celebratory cake.
Moree Bowls Club member Wes MacPherson also spoke at the lunch, with the club recently changing from a men's only club to all inclusive.
The club was started on April 23, 1958 and was at the Moree Bowling Club until its closure in 1995, when they made the move to the Moree Services Club where they remain today.
Affiliation with the NSW Women's Bowling Association was approved in September, 1959 the club became a member of the Gwydir District Women's Bowling Association in 1960.
The club is now a member of the Namoi Women's District Bowling Association which comprises of Moree, Narrabri, Wee Waa and Lightning Ridge.
The Moree Services Women's Bowling Club currently comprises of 14 members who continue to enjoy social days and competing in district events.
