Assef's Michael Irwin has been announced as the winner of the Moree Thumbs Up! Thumbs Down! Customer Service Appreciation Award for September 2019.
Michael works as part of the retail team in the men's wear department of Assef's and has been working there for 17 years.
"I love my job, the Assef's family, the staff and the amazing customers that I have the pleasure of serving every day," Michael said when presented with the award.
This is the second time Michael has won the award with his first coming in May 2016.
"I feel honoured to have been recognised and to the people who took the time to vote for me, a big heartfelt thank you and I love you all," he said.
"So many people have congratulated me and it's overwhelming to know that people care."
Michael was nominated by Hayley Yendall-Smith who said she nominated Michael "because of his personalised, professional service."
"He always aims to please his customers and takes great pride in his role at Assef's," she said.
"Having this local award is important as it recognises individuals who go that extra step further in their jobs.
"I value good customer service myself and appreciate that good old fashioned, personalised service in local businesses.
"That was so thoughtful of her, she is the best, it means a lot and I have sent flowers to her workplace as a huge thank you," Michael said when told of who nominated him.
Michael received plenty of support from members of the community.
"I just could not imagine shopping at Asse'fs without receiving help from our wonderful Michael," Wendy Teece said.
"When visiting Moree I always like to shop at Assef's, and always greeted byMichael's smiling face.
"He manages to make customers feel it has made his day to see you, a rare gift. Congratulations Michael, so well deserved."
