Held on Saturday, October 12, there will be six races throughout the day, with each race and the pigs sponsored by either businesses or individuals in the community, all to raise money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service (WRHS).
"We thought this would be a good idea, a fun filled family event where everyone can join in and take part without too much stress," Moree WRHS Volunteer Support Group secretary Kevin Chaplin said.
"The guy just turns up with his pigs, we run a calcutta on them. It's a pretty simple day and hopefully everyone will enjoy the day."
Based on a Calcutta basis, half of the money received for each race will be used as prize money with the other half donated to the WRHS.
The races won't be the only entertainment on the day, with some live music provided in the afternoon and night, a jumping castle and plenty of other activities for the children.
The day will kick off at 1pm, with buses running from Moree to and from Pally Pub and Mr Chaplin has said they've had "really good feedback from it" already.
"Just come out and support the Westpac helicopter," he said.
"It does a good job for the region. Anyone that's ever been involved in it, it's probably saved their life."
