Gates were stolen during two separate incidents in Boomi last week.
The first occurred between 4pm on Tuesday, August 13 and 12.45pm on Wednesday, August 14, when six gates were stolen from the yard of a Mungindi Road, Boomi property.
The second incident occurred sometime in the week leading up to Friday, August 16, when two steel gates were stolen from the entrance to Baronga Reserve, Boomi.
Police suspect the gates may have been stolen by offenders to make pig traps.
Further investigation is taking place, however police are urging anyone with information about these incidents to contact their local police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
