Held on September 7 and 8 this year, the event is run by a small committee of farmers who have an interest and wanted to bring something to North Star.
Committee member Kelsie Cranston said the North Star Showjumping Classic was first run in 2013 and has been an annual event on the calendar ever since.
"We have riders that come from QLD down and people as far as Tamworth and Quirindi. We usually have 800 rounds so that would be 150 riders," she said.
Three rings are set up starting from 50cm working up to 1.30m plus (the grand prix class). The event is open to any age and the classes are split into junior, for riders 17 and under and open class for anyone else who'd like to enter.
In previous years the likes of Olympian Ron Easey and New Zealand showjumper Katie Laurie have attended and competed at North Star.
"We try to cater for everyone with lots of different events. As long as you can ride a horse, you can compete," she said.
The first class will begin at 8am on September 7 and will finish on Sunday in all three rings. Nominations are being accepted via nominate.com.au.
Although nominations close August 26, Cranston said late nominations would be welcomed.
"We have course builder Graham Watts, he's one of the top course builders in Australia, who will build our main arena which is very exciting."
Described as having a casual, friendly atmosphere, the North Star Showjumping Classic is a great event for the whole family to enjoy.
"It's always great, it's run at the local sports club so there is a bar which is a great aspect and there will be a dinner on Saturday night."
