Following on from the success of their previous workshops in Moree, the Young Farmer Business Program (YFBP) has partnered with the Moree Young Aggies to host the business school at the Moree Town and Country Club on September 4 and 5.
"This opportunity comes off the back of the demand and feedback from the previous workshop the YFBP held in Moree and gives the ag community the chance to take that next step following on from the initial workshop," Young Aggies co-chair Casey Onus said.

"The business school provides locals with the opportunity to receive high quality education, mentoring and business coaching without the need to travel to the city.
"The current drought has presented its own challenges, but it also presents a great opportunity for people to take a step back from working in their business, to work on their business as well."
The six-month program is being delivered by the Agri-Business Development Institute and will involve two, two-day face-to-face workshops at the beginning and again approximately three quarters of the way through the course, as well as online learning modules, group coaching calls and members-only webinars held/released monthly.
Participants will have access to a closed Facebook group and will receive subsidies for travel and accommodation.
The online modules will cover:
- Finding where you make the real money in your business
- Learning fundamentals to manage staff, family and contractors
- Staying on top of finances by managing cash flow and learning financial fundamentals
- Using the art of sales to become a price setter, not a price taker
- Creating a business that is easier to manage
- Spending your time effectively
Ms Onus said the course, which would usually cost thousands of dollars, has been heavily subsidised by the YFBP to bring the cost down to make it more accessible to those who may be looking to start their own business, or those who may have already started one recently.
The early bird price is $399 for the first person and $199 for the second person (and thereafter) from the same business. Full price tickets are $499 for the first person and $299 for the second person (and thereafter).
