With a junior touch competition back in Moree for the first time since 2012, the program has seen instant success, with 177 children currently registered.
Games are held every Wednesday, with the children split into three age groups, with four teams in each.
"We're trying to create other positive alternatives for the children," Moree Junior Touch Football committee member Paul Spearim said.

The children enjoyed some casual games of touch football, before a game between the police and community was held, with a free barbecue also being provided.
Mr Spearim said Moree has a very rich history in touch football, with Moree winning Australian championships in the late 1990s.
He said Moree was the team that everyone wanted to watch, and now they're trying to provide opportunities for the sport to grow in the region.
"We're trying to provide more alternatives for the children to progress through touch football," Mr Spearim said.
The committee is still after more members, as well as coaches and referees.
Coaching and referee courses are provided free of charge for anyone interested in being involved.
