Five community groups and organisations will receive a boost, after being approved for financial assistance from Moree Plains Shire Council at the latest council meeting on Thursday.

Mungindi Show Society, Moree Motor Enthusiasts Club and Moree and District Netball Association will each receive $2,000 from the unallocated community funding budget, while Moree Aboriginal Elders Incorporated and St Philomena's Parents and Friends Association will receive $1,000 each.
Moree and District Netball Association will use their funding to purchase 12 custom printed post pads to increase the safety of the netball posts during matches and club competitions.
Mungindi Show Society's funding will go towards the costs involved in putting on the 2019 Mungindi Show on August 10 and 11 and the Motor Enthusiasts Club will use theirs to host the annual Moree Motor Trade Expo Show and Shine during the Father's Day markets on Sunday, September 1.

The Moree Aboriginal Elders Incorporated will use their grant to go towards the costs involved in hosting the Aboriginal Elders Olympics in Moree on Friday, September 13.
Finally, St Philomena's P&F Association hope use their donation to purchase a new banner, which will be raised in Balo Street, prior to the annual Spring Fair.
Country Women's Association of NSW Weemelah branch applied for $860 to host a mosaic workshop and the Mungindi Grasshoppers Football Club applied for $2,050 to cover the cost of Mungindi Oval light fees for the 2020 football season, however these groups were unsuccessful in receiving funding this time around.
The next round of funding will be open next month. Applicants must complete and submit a Public Donations Application Form no later than 5pm on September 13 for Public Donations for the period from October to December 2019. In accordance with council's Public Donations Policy, applications received after the deadline will not be considered until council's first meeting in the next calendar quarter.
Applications will be presented to council at its meeting on October 10. Copies of the application form are available at the Moree Community Library and Council offices at Moree and Mungindi, by phoning Council's Grants Officer on (02) 6757 3218 or via email council@mpsc.nsw.gov.au.
