The hall at Pius X Aboriginal Corporation was packed on Wednesday, as Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal elders came together to enjoy a few games of bingo as part of 2019 NAIDOC Week celebrations.
About 40 elders, including residents from Fairview Retirement Village and Moree Care, took part in this year's bingo event, enjoying a delicious morning tea before getting serious with their bingo.
With plenty of great prizes up for grabs, the stakes were high during the popular annual event.
Lunch was also provided following the bingo.
NAIDOC Week celebrations continue in Moree on Thursday with a cultural family fun day at the SHAE Academy from 11am. There will be traditional games and dancing, jumping castles, giant slides, giant blow-up games, a petting zoo, arts corner, face painting, basket weaving, a free barbecue and plenty of food stalls.
On Friday, Fairview Retirement Village will host a community morning tea at 10am.
Events will then continue on the weekend and for the next week.
