The Boars were able to hang in for the majority of the contest, before the Boomerangs ran away with it in the last 20 minutes for a 52-30 win.
It was a tough opening half with both sides trading blows but the Boomerangs were able to gain the ascendancy in the latter stages to go into the break with a slender 22-18 lead.
It was the second half where the Boomerangs began to show their class and take control.
The Boars were dealt a number of blows, with forwards Jade Kennedy (head knock) and Bruce Swan (dislocated shoulder) forced to leave the field.
The Boomerangs piled on five tries to one before the Boars added a late consolation try in the dying stages.

Boomerangs coach Chris Binge said it was an important win after a tough loss last week.
He particularly praised his side's second half performance after a tough opening 40 minutes.
"Percentage wise, we were up around the 85 percent mark which is where you want to be. We executed in the second half what we wanted to," Binge said.
Binge said it was a very stop start game, due to the number of injuries.
"You couldn't get a consistent flow during the game," he said.
"But you've got to play to the conditions and I think we played pretty well.
"I wasn't happy with with the last try Boars scored. It was 52-24 and then we let our guard down with 30 seconds to go.
"I'm disappointed just about that, but overall happy with the result."
The Boomerangs have struggled to field a consistent side each week in recent times but Binge is still confident that their best team can beat anyone in the competition.
He also gave a lot of credit to the Boars who came out with a lot of intensity to start the match.
"They gave us a good hitout over the first 30 minutes," Binge said.
"They're short on stock at the moment but they gave us a good game of football.
"We know, post that game, we have to be better. We have to try and make sure we get some consistency."
Stan Smith was named the Boomerangs best player on the day, while Kyle Butler and Anthony Williams were also strong in the forwards.
Binge also said the team received good direction from a couple of the experienced heads in the side, including halfback Will Fernando.
It's been a tough couple of weeks for the Boars, dealing with a number of injuries.
Their match against Narwan Eels last week was ended early due to player safety concerns, and they suffered another two injuries on Saturday.
Despite the injury issues, captain coach Stan Swan was still proud of his team's efforts.
"I think we played alright. We really played for each other on the weekend," Swan said.

Swan said they were right in the match in the first half but the injuries to their key forwards had a significant impact.
"The Rangs kept us in our own half and we struggled to get out," he said.
Swan said Anthony Smith was one of his side's standouts in the centres and Jaidan Warrener also stepped up after backing up from the under-18s.
The Boomerangs also got the win in an incredibly exciting under-18s clash.
The Boomerangs held just a four-point lead at half time and raced out to a 28-10 lead in the second half before the Boars fought their way back into the match to set up a grandstand finish.
The Boomerangs were ultimately able to hold on for a 28-22 win.
In the ladies league tag, the Boars continued their red hot form with a massive 38-2 win against their cross town rivals.
