The new program, 'THRIVE - Productivity for Progress', is run by the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) Tocal College and focuses on productivity, time management, communication and networking.
DPI leader of workforce and development Charlie Bell said the course is available to men and women at any stage of their career, who are interested in developing or honing their skills in personal effectiveness and leadership.
"The course will help participants identify how they can improve their time management, organisational skills and set effective goals at both a personal and business level," he said.
"Also covered are strategies for developing and maintaining networks, as well as tips for managing conflict, having difficult conversations and negotiating positive outcomes."
The development of this course evolved out of the enormous success and interest that resulted from the Generating Regionally Outstanding Women (GROW) program.
THRIVE is delivered by experienced trainers including Rebecca Fing of House Paddock Training and Consulting and can be fully subsidised through the AgSkilled program for grains and cotton industry workers. AgSkilled is a NSW Government funded training initiative, led by industry partners the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) and Cotton Australia.
The course will be delivered via a pre-course online video presentation, workplace exercises, as well as a two-day workshop at regional locations.
Numbers are limited, so registrations are essential. Registrations for the Narrabri course close on July 8 in time for pre-course work. The two-day workshop will be held on August 12 and 13. A course is also being held in Moree on July 8, however registrations have already closed. To register or get more information, please email thrive@tocal.com or contact Rebecca Fing on 0427 107 234.
