There were more than 70 entrants with trophies up for grabs in 15 categories. The Peoples' Choice Award went to Jim Ambrose with his HJ Holden sedan and the judges' choice was Wayne Reeves' XA Falcon GT hardtop coupe. Visitors traveled from as far as Yamba, many spending the weekend in town.
Jim and Mandy Ambrose said they were "blown away" by the support. "We had no idea what to expect but all the responses have been positive and it will definitely be bigger and better next year."
This is the club's first major event in about 10 years and will now become an annual gathering at the end of June.
"We are so grateful for all the local support," Mr Ambrose said. "We were overwhelmed by the sponsorship we were able to raise from businesses, the council gifted us a grant, Rob McKenzie volunteered his time to MC and judge; Nicky from the golf club sang, Rotary and the Girl Guides and Shot 2 U Coffee kept everyone happy with food and drinks."
