20 teams from Inverell, Narrabri, Walgett and Mungindi came together to compete in under-9s/10s, under-11s/12s and opens.
There were 14 rounds throughout the day, with each team getting the opportunity to play at least six games.
"The day was really successful. We were very pleased with how everything went," Moree and District Netball Association vice president Kate McLaren said.
The club was able to host a carnival for the first time last year after a small hiatus, with upgrades being conducted at their facilities at Ron Harborne Oval.
"Now that we have some upgrades it's a lot better to be able to hold carnivals," McLaren said.
"They still need improvements, obviously, but the committee has worked really hard to get this day happening and they have done a fabulous job."
McLaren said the feedback they received from the players and parents involved was very positive.
"I did get some [feedback] from our parents of the Moree teams and they said the kids had a great day and they've seen some great improvement from the other carnivals in other towns so that's a positive," she said.
The Moree carnival will be the last of the year, but the club is aiming to hold another carnival next year as well as send teams to the junior state titles in Sydney for the first time in a number of years.
"There hasn't really been much training happening until this year and all the kids that have been attending training, you can see the improvement in those kids and the training will continue while Saturday netball continues," McLaren said.
The Saturday competition continues this weekend while the club will also host a school holiday clinic in the second week of July.
