There were 98 players competing from 19 different clubs across the north west, including Inverell, Narrabri, Wee Waa, Gunnedah, Tamworth, Armidale and even as far as Quirindi and Cessnock.
The conditions made it a tough slog for all the players, with strong winds having a major impact on play.
It all continues tomorrow with day two of the tournament, which will be followed by a presentation and dinner that evening where Golf NSW deupty chair Meralyn Fage will be in attendance.
Following the completion of the tournament, a separate foursomes event will be held on Thursday.
