The win means the Boomerangs go two from two against the Boars this season after a strong win back in round three.
It was a tough and physical encounter, with just four points in it early in the second half, but the Boomerangs were able run away with it in the 44-26 win.
The two sides traded blows early, but it was the Boomerangs who took a slender 22-12 lead into the half time break.
The Boars came out firing in the second half, scoring a try straight out of the blocks but the Boomerangs came back and were able to stay on top for the majority of the half and get an important win after two straight losses.
Boomerangs coach Chris Binge knew the Boars would be up for the game and said it was a "pretty physical" encounter.
"We went into the game as close as possible to full strength which obviously showed toward the end of the game," Binge said.
"At the back end of each half, we were probably a little bit more crisp in relation to our game."

Binge said his side's discipline was the most pleasing thing about the win, particularly in the first half.
"I was over the moon at half time. We fought really hard and got into the grind," he said.
"We didn't give away a penalty in 40 minutes, which is rare in any sort of football. Our completion rate was up around that 85 percent mark. Those two factors gave us the ascendancy going into the second half.
"They jumped out of the blocks in the second half and got an early try, but we didn't panic....We went back to our structures and that's what we haven't been doing the last couple of weeks."
It was the Boomerang's most complete performance of the season, according to Binge, but now it's up to the team to continue to build on that.
"When we're in this sort of frame of mind, when we stick to what we want to do, we're going to beat the rest of the competition," Binge said.
"I'm happy with the overall performance but I'm more happy with the discipline and defensive efforts."
Will Fernando was a welcome return at halfback for the Boomerangs, controlling the game well alongside Keanan Duncan.
Richard Simpson was strong in the back row while Eathan Pegus played his first game of rugby league in a couple of years and scored a try which Binge called "one of the most brilliant individual tries I've seen in the competition in a long time."
Binge also gave particular credit to Tyrell Smith, who has taken over as captain over the last few weeks and relished in the new role.
"He's doing a great job. He needs to definitely be commended in the way he's working with his team and getting the best out of the blokes he's captaining," Binge said.
For the Boars, captain coach Stan Swan said poor discipline let his side down, but credited his teammates for sticking it out for the full 80 minutes.
"We gave away too many penalties and they got in our own half and you can't let the Rangs have the ball in your own half. They're a really good side and they can score from anywhere," Swan said.
"We never put our heads down. We kept showing up and played for the full 80 minutes."
Swan said his forward pack really stepped up again in this match, in particular Brendan Fox and Jackson Fuller, as well as Marshall Barker.

Binge said it was a strong team performance from the Boomerangs, with everyone putting their hand up and doing their job.
"The scary thing there's still massive room for improvement," he said.
"If we continue to work hard the improvement will come and continue to forge our way through the competition."
The competition will now break for the June long weekend, with Binge acknowledging it will be a good time for players to deal with niggling injuries, while Swan would rather keep playing, with his side to continue to work on their discipline.
The Boomerangs will host the Armidale Rams after the long weekend, while the Boars will prepare for an important clash at home against the Glen Innes Magpies.
The Boars got the points in the other two games, winning ladies league tag 28-6 while the under 18s secured a 30-14 victory.
