It's a chance for everyone to discover the resources and services that are available for free from Big Sky Libraries through the Moree Community Library.
Moree Library Coordinator Samantha Geatches explained the event is organised by the Australian Library and Information Association to promote the value of reading and literacy, the importance of Australia's book industry and the role of libraries.
"It is a great opportunity to celebrate with a week of engaging events and competitions for all ages and showcase the services Big Sky Libraries provide to members of the public," Ms Geatches said.
To mark the occasion, the Moree Community Library will be holding a junior scavenger hunt every afternoon after school for five to 12-year-olds.
On Wednesday, May 22, the library will host a trivia competition for adults to test their knowledge and have fun whilst socialising. Beginning at 5.30pm, participants can enter as a group, couple of individual and light refreshments will be provided.
Additionally, the Moree Community Library will host National Simultaneous Storytime at 11am on May 22, with this year's book, 'Alpaca's with Maracas'.
Ms Hodges will also give a presentation that will challenge beliefs and attitudes, whilst aiming to reduce the stigma around mental illness.
