The Boomerangs controlled the game from beginning to end, going into the break with a 22-6 lead.
The Rams were able to bring it back to 22-18 early in the second half, when the Boomerangs had two players sin binned due to what coach Chris Binge labelled some questionable refereeing.
"I've got to be really honest, there were times in that game, the officials had control of the game," he said.
"We had two blokes sent off at the same time, we were down to 11 men to start the second half, we had two players sin binned for holding the player down."
Binge said it was probably a fair penalty but to sin bin two players for a common infringement was poor.
"When you've got the two touch judges saying they don't agree with any of the decisions he's making, it makes you wonder."
Aside from that controversy, Binge was very pleased with how his team responded and played overall, with a strong last quarter resulting in a 50-24 win.
Two of the club's under 18s players in Dwayne and Daniel Smith made their A-grade debut and were sensational off the bench, particularly after they had to back up from reserve grade.

Hooker Zac Sampson had to switch to halfback and his halves partner in Keenan Duncan led the team around the park, with Jade Porter and Peter Duncan also standouts in the front row.
"They deserve some big credits. They led from the front," Binge said.
"Jade, he's a 19-year-old front rower and he's looking like a seasoned front rower.
"We've got a few injuries in that area and he's really stepping up. On the back of their go-forward we were able to score our tries."
Binge said the team executed the game plan perfectly and handled the tough circumstances really well.
"In the second half, it was really stop start. It wasn't because of the two teams that were playing. There was no malice, it was played in the right spirit, but it was stop start in the way the game was being officiated," he said.
"It makes it look like the game was really close when it never really was.
"No disrespect to Armidale, they've got a really enthusiastic group of young kids, and in a few years' time they're going to be really competitive."
In league tag, the Boomerangs went down in a hard-fought 18-10 loss, with Binge stepping in to help out as coach this week.
"They played really well. For a young side they defended their butts off and they were very close to winning that game," he said.
The reserve grade side were able to get a tough 24-18 win, with Binge himself lacing up the boots for the first time in around 12 years, laughing that he felt very sore the following day.
"I'm pretty happy with the overall club performance, when you go away and get a couple of wins that's always good."
The Boomerangs will now look ahead to a massive day next Sunday when they host the Glen Innes Magpies, headlined by a grand final rematch in A-grade between the two remaining undefeated sides in the competition.
