The large crowd were on the edge of their seats watching cowboys who traveled from all over the country bucking on both bulls and horses, in a spectacle that did not disappoint at all.
The show continues on Saturday, with plenty of action still to come.
The official ceremony will be held at 2.45pm which will be followed by the grand parade at 3pm.
There is plenty on to keep the entire family entertained, including a pet show, comedy magician, whipcracking, farmer's challenge, tug of war, tyre chuck, ute barrel races, demolition derby and fireworks, running all day and into the night.
