Davis, who played for Armidale, Narwan and Inverell, tragically passed away in March.
Event coordinator Jay Cohen came up with the idea to raise funds for Davis' family through a touch football knockout.
"I realise that at the sad time of losing a father and a provider you're going to need some assistance with the funeral funds and stuff like that," he said.
Cohen said they raised somewhere "between $1000 and $2000."
10 teams in total played in the competition, five in the men's division and five mixed teams, coming from Moree, Inverell, Tingha and other surrounding areas.
Moree 2400 took out the men's division while the Smith Crew, also from Moree, won the mixed competition.
"It was a good day. We had a lot of people just to watch and support, bought a drink or a sausage or a bag of lollies," Cohen said.
"It was just to help support Leroy's family."
Cohen plans to make this an annual event held on the Easter weekend each year.
He wanted to thank all the teams and everyone else that participated to make the day a success.
