The Moree Boars A-grade side enjoyed a stellar start to their 2019 Group 19 campaign with a 60-30 thrashing of the Armidale Rams.
It's been a mixed start for the club this season with reduced numbers and they were forced to forfeit the reserve grade match but it didn't stop them putting on a clinic in attack, scoring 11 tries en route to the 30-point victory.
Connor Ryan scored a whopping five tries in the win, with Boars captain coach Stan Swan adding three of his own.
Wayne Swan, Dion Dahlstrom and Jackson Fuller added the three remaining tries.
Boars captain coach Stan Swan was obviously pleased with his attack, but wasn't content with his side's defensive efforts.
"Defence really let us down, with how many points they scored," he said.
"We might have to change our defensive structure."
Swan singled out Ryan with his remarkable try scoring abilities as an obvious standout in the win.
"Also Wayne Swan, he really stepped up when we needed to go forward. Luke McDonald as well."
The ladies league tag weren't able to obtain the same success as the men, going down 28-16 in their game.
The Boars will now have two weeks off with the bye this weekend and Easter coming up, before a massive local derby against the Boomerangs in two weeks.
Swan said it may halt their momentum but there are positives to the interrupted start.
"It could be a good thing, could have a few more players come to the club and be able to have a reserve grade. We'll just keep working on defence, maintaining fitness, most of the boys will probably be eating easter eggs," he laughed.
Their next match against the Boomerangs will be held on either April 27 or 28 at Burt Jovanovick Oval.
