A CRITICAL care team rushed to the aid of a five-year-old boy who was kicked in the head by a horse on Thursday.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was on its way to another rescue in Glen Innes when crew received the emergency call that the child was in a critical condition.
The little boy was stabilised on scene at a Moree property by ASNSW Paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team before being loaded into the helicopter for transport.
The child's mother escorted her son to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
He is believed to be in a critical condition.
