Following months of preparation, Tayla Frahm is hoping her team can record their season's best times in their ultimate events at the NSW Schoolgirl Head of the River this Saturday, March 16.
Along with classmates Kim Bange (Narrabri), Lily Neilson (Armidale), Molly Dooner (Armidale), and coxswain Hattie Oates (Tamworth), Frahm will take on the competition at the Sydney International Regatta Centre (SIRC).
This will be the first time the TAS girls will face the Schoolgirl Championships as a four (rowing with single sweep oars) rather than a quad (two oars per rower).
The team have been training hard since November, and attended camps and regattas at Grafton and Taree during the school holidays. They also took on the NSW Rowing Championships and Sydney Rowing Club regattas at SIRC this term.
“We've all taken to sweep well and (we're) confident we can improve on our personal best time set at Sydney Rowing Club regatta two weeks ago and finish the season well," the girls' captain of boats Kim Bange said.
"However we finish, everyone’s just aiming to finish on a season high."
