Moree Highway patrol attempted to stop a Holden commodore ute on the Gwydir Highway shortly after 3pm on Friday, February 15.
The driver reportedly refused to stop and instead sped up, continuing east along the highway. Police pursued the vehicle, reaching west of Warialda before terminating the chase. The investigation was continued, and the alleged driver was identified the following day.

The 24-year-old man was found at a Moree address on Saturday afternoon, and served with court attendance notice.
The offences included police pursuit – not stop, learner driver unaccompanied, use misleading number plates and learner driver not display L plates.
The matter has been listed to appear at Moree Local Court on April 8.
