There were plenty of smiles, and no tears in sight, at St Philomena’s School on Wednesday, as Moree’s first lot of 2019 kindergarten students began their first day of big school.

With their oversized backpacks and uniforms a few sizes too big, a new batch of fresh-faced kindergarteners started school with mums, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters and cousins all on hand to support them as they began their schooling life.
A total of 45 students are enrolled in kindergarten at St Philomena’s this year, making up two classes of 22 and 23. Two sets of twins are among the kindergarten class of 2019.
