A total of 23 nominations were received across the seven awards categories for this year, including Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Event/Group of the Year, Sports Person of the Year, Volunteer Group of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Environmental Citizen of the Year.
The nominees, in no particular order, include:

The winners will be announced during Moree’s annual Australia Day breakfast event, to be held at Jellicoe Park from 8am on Saturday, January 26.

The event will kick off in true Aussie style with a free barbecue breakfast, provided by Moree Lions Club.
The official part of the day will begin at 9am, with the Welcome to Country at 9.15am, followed by a citizenship ceremony to welcome our newest Australian citizens at 9.30am.
The Australia Day Awards presentation will get underway at 10.30am, with the winners to be presented by Moree’s 2019 Australia Day ambassador George Ellis.
