Tafe NSW regional general manager, Kate Baxter, said the study predicted growth in full-time employment opportunities as a result of a current skills shortage, aging population and exciting investments in the region.
“The Boggabilla and Northern Tablelands region is experiencing a shortage of local, skilled workers in a number of areas including aged and disabled care, pre-primary school teaching and childcare, construction and hospitality,” Ms Baxter said.
“Our population is aging and the construction and development of a number of new health care and childcare facilities will continue to generate increased demand for skilled workers - key factors that will open the doors to many exciting potential employment opportunities.
“The Northern Tablelands has a very diverse economy, with strong activity in health, community services, construction, technology, business and agriculture.
“Tafe NSW offers a range of qualifications across all industry growth areas including nursing, aged and disabled care, community services, early childhood education, building and carpentry and real estate - just to name a few.
“Tafe NSW is Australia’s largest education and training provider and will continue to innovate and invest in courses to meet the skills needs of Boggabilla and the Northern Tablelands region.
“Tafe delivers the skills that drive a strong economy, support vibrant communities and help individuals, enterprises and industries to adapt and thrive.
“With more than 1200 face-to-face and online courses available for 2019, and with current and future job prospects for Boggabilla and the Northern Tablelands region looking bright, I encourage the community to visit Tafe NSW to find out how you can upskill or reskill to pursue employment opportunities.”
Members of the Boggabilla community can explore course and career options by visiting the Tafe NSW InfoFest between January 21 and 25 or attend online information sessions at www.tafensw.edu.au
