“Ken Mackay, the patriarch of all things at Merawah, passed away peacefully in Goondiwindi last night (Tuesday) surrounded by family and friends aged 93,” the family posted on facebook.

“Ken was a greatly respected cattleman, horseman, pilot and was pretty much good at anything! He was also a wonderful father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren and a great mentor to many.

“R.I.P. Dad - they don't make them like you any more.”

Ken's funeral will be held at the Church of England, Goondiwindi on January 22 at 11am (QLD time).
