Hundreds turn up from the local region, others travel across state borders as well as the occasional international visitor.
A big fan of rugby camps, including our local one is Waratahs, Wallabies and NSW Country Eagles prop Tom Robertson.
Robertson grew up in Wellington, near Dubbo, and attended the camp on Tuesday.
He was full of praise for the concept of bringing kids together for camps.
“I love it. I did my ACL in October last year and I have been on the camp circuit for a bit now and I actually quite enjoy it,” he said.
“I am from the country and coming back to places like Armidale reminds me a lot of home and all the people you see and stuff like that.”
While Robertson was there to pass on some tips to up-and-coming rugby players about making it to the big time, he said there is one element which is more important than anything.
“There is a lot of other things about turning pro and doing the best you can but at the end of the day if you don't enjoy rugby you shouldn't be playing it,” he said.
“My biggest thing for the day is just to get the kids to enjoy what they are doing and have a bit of fun – that is what it is all about.
“You obviously have to work hard but at the same time you have to enjoy it, otherwise you probably won't work hard.
“Listen to your coaches and stuff like that, they are always the same messages but they ring pretty true.”
The camp ends on Wednesday.
