Miyay Birray Youth Service will be running a school holiday program over the last two weeks of the summer holidays as a great option to help prevent the boredom from setting in before local children return to school.

The school holiday program will kick off on Monday, January 21 and will run until Friday, February 1.
There are plenty of fun activities lined up during each weekday throughout the two weeks.
The program will get underway with arts and crafts at the Moree Sports Health Arts and Education (SHAE) Academy at 144 Anne Street from 10am to 2pm on Monday, January 21. This will involve painting and other messy activities, so children are asked to wear or bring old clothes.
On Tuesday, January 22 there will be twilight touch football at the SHAE Academy oval from 6pm to 9pm. Suitable running shoes are required.
There will be water activities at the SHAE Academy from 10am to 2pm on Wednesday, January 23. Children are asked to bring a towel and change of clothes. This will be followed by a movie day at the SHAE Academy from 10am to 2pm on Thursday, January 24.
Friday, January 25 will be a water day for the Mungindi community.
There will be no activities on Monday, January 28 as it is the Australia Day public holiday.
Tuesday, January 29 is HIPPY Day, an early childhood party at Apex Park from 10am to 2pm for children under five years and their parents/guardians.
On Wednesday, January 30, there’ll be an excursion to Narrabri to go to the movies and pool. A bus will leave from the SHAE Academy at 9.30am. Permisison notes and conditions apply.
There will be a messy art day at the SHAE Academy from 10am to 2pm on Thursday, January 31. Children are asked to wear or bring old clothes.

Finally, on Friday, February 1 there’ll be a disco for primary school-aged children from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, followed by a disco for secondary school-aged children from 9pm to 11pm.
The school holiday program is completely free and is open to all young people in the Moree community. All children aged 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Children must also bring their own hat each day. Sunscreen, lunch and water will be provided.
To register, parents/guardians will be required to attend either on the first Monday of both weeks, or contact Miyay Birray prior to January 21. Permission notes and paperwork will need to be filled out.
Transport is available to and from each event.
