The five-day intensive program will kick off on Monday, January 14 and will run until Friday, January 18.
Children of all ages, from 18-months, are encouraged to take part in the learn to swim program to gain skills which could one day save their lives.
MAAC aquatics manager Kerry Macey said learning to swim is an important skill to have to prevent children from drowning.

“Around here we have farms, rivers, dams, backyard swimming pools … so children need to know how to swim,” she said.
Participants of the learn to swim program will be split into different categories depending on their age and skill level.
The different levels include:
- Nemo – a water familiarisation program for parents / carers and their children aged 18 to 36 months. Parents are required to enter the water.
- Dory and Snapper – builds water confidence for preschool children between the ages of three and five. Parents may be required to enter the water.
- Marlins, Dolphins and Sharks – educates five to 14-year-olds in the basics of learn to swim, stroke development and water safety. Parents are not required to enter the water.
Cost of the program is $75 for the first child, and $70 for any additional siblings. Pool entry fees are not included, however MAAC is offering a discounted entry rate of $3 for children participating in the Learn to Swim program.
So far more than 50 children are enrolled in the program.
Ms Macey said the January program usually attracts up to 80 children.
Lessons, which run for 30 minutes, will be held in the mornings throughout the five days, from 8.15am.
