More than a thousand people attended the annual Christmas at Twilight event, held on Friday, December 14, which saw Ron Harborne Oval transformed into a Christmas wonderland.
“It was a great night, it went really well,” co-organiser Jason Poutawa from Moree Salvation Army said.
“A lot of people I saw or spoke to said they really enjoyed the night.”
A petting zoo, rides, jumping castles and art and craft activities kept children entertained in the early evening before the carols part got underway.
Mr Poutawa said a highlight this year was the introduction of the Kids’ Zone area, featuring activities such as laser tag, touch football and AFL, which drew a crowd.

“All those activities went really well,” he said.
Another highlight was the arrival of Santa Claus, who flew in on a helicopter.
“That was pretty cool,” Mr Poutawa said.
“People swarmed in from everywhere when Santa arrived.”
Santa Claus took time out of his busy schedule to hand out treats to the good boys and girls of Moree.
As always, the carols were a popular part of the evening, with the oval filled with families on picnic blankets singing along to all their favourite Christmas carols.
The carols were led by Moree and District Band and Moree Community Choir, with special performances by Serendipity Sings, Moree Public School choir, Moree East Public School choir, St Philomena’s School choir, Moree Christian School and Moree Secondary College.
Mr Poutawa said MC Greg Henry did a great job running the show and keeping everything on time.
The night finished with a bang, as the crowd enjoyed the spectacular fireworks display.
“There’s not much that really brings the whole town together but this is something that a lot of people come to for a good night,” Mr Poutawa said.
