Arguably one of the biggest highlights on Moree’s social calendar, this year’s Christmas races did not disappoint.
About 4,700 people from all over the region and beyond attended Saturday's race meet.
While it was a somewhat smaller crowd than usual, Moree Race Club secretary Michelle Gobbert said it was a great day, with everyone enjoying the cooler weather.
“It was perfect,” she said.
“It wasn’t too hot, although it was a bit humid, but it was better than the 38/39 degrees it usually is which was quite nice.”

Ms Gobbert said the crowd was reasonably well behaved.
Newcastle-based band Hurricane Fall proved to be a crowd-pleaser with everyone wanting to dance the night away.
Meanwhile, there was some tough competition in the fashion stakes as ladies and gentleman dressed to impress.
Christine Sciban was the Best Dressed Lady, Taylor Smith was named Best Dressed Young Lady, Ritchie Hair won Best Dressed Gentleman, Susannah and Oscar Pearse took out Best Dressed Couple, and Sam Cosgrove boasted the Best Hat or Fascinator in the Fashions on the Field, sponsored by Bella Sante.
