Students from Bullarah and Mallawa public schools provided a special Christmas treat for the residents of Fairview Retirement Village last week.

All students from Mallawa Public School and some from Bullarah Public School played their ukuleles and sang for the Fairview residents on Friday, December 7.
The students performed Christmas carols and a range of other songs, including Kookaburra Sits In The Old Gum Tree and You Are My Sunshine.

They also sung Happy Birthday to one of the residents, Betty, who was celebrating her birthday.
Bullarah Public School relieving principal Laura Crompvoets said that was a highlight for the students.
“The students and residents all had a ball,” she said.
The concert was the first time the students have played ukuleles at Fairview, however the second time they’ve sung for the residents.
Some students have been playing the ukulele for two years, while others only started this year.
